Behtar, 8, left, lives with her mother, sister, and two brothers in Lowai Baba Jan, PD11, Kabul, Afghanistan. Her father is drug-addicted and hasn’t been home for months. Her brother Maisam, 11, works in the market cleaning vegetables and her mother Noor Bibi occasionally works as a cleaner. The internally displaced family lives in poverty and hasn’t eaten for days. ; UNHCR is targeting support towards 80 Priority Areas of Return and Reintegration in Afghanistan, which are home to more than 19 million people. These areas comprise the country’s five main cities, including Kabul, plus 75 districts. UNHCR is providing schools, health centres, water projects and roads, and supporting livelihoods projects to help make returns more durable and mitigate future displacements by ensuring localities are more resilient.

KOMAK (KDAO) is an Afghan humanitarian relief and development non-governmental organization established in 2018 under registration number 4506 with Ministry of Economy Afghanistan with the objectives of providing relief and emergency services, and long-term sustainable development projects. KOMAK (KDAO) is working in many provinces throughout Afghanistan carrying out short and long-term projects in emergency relief, Health, WASH, Education, Protection, shelter, safe drinking water to the people of Afghanistan.
